FUTURE OUTLOOK – Getronics' three-year roadmap toward being a provider of integrated client services is more or less consistent with the bigger market where borders between telecommunications and ICT are rapidly fading and service providers, system integrators, and equipment vendors all understand the necessity to collaborate to meet customers' changing demands. It is important to note, however, that Getronics has a clear advantage here as it has successfully leveraged KPN's telecommunications and networking skills to become a key ICT player in Benelux in a challenging economic environment.
It also seems that Getronics understands the importance of practicing what it preaches. An example of this is the introduction of the "New Way of Working," which has been implemented initially within the organisation itself. This "New Way of Working" is all about creating a flexible work environment and has proved not only to cut costs while increasing productivity, but also increase employee satisfaction. In addition, it put Getronics in a strong position in terms of lowering its carbon footprint in 2009, and it means that Getronics can focus on the selling of a business solution, instead of focusing on the underpinning technology, such as UC.
We believe Getronics' international developments — such as investing in and partnering with companies such as Compucom, Technocom, APX, and NTT— align with its aim to become an aggregator of services on a global scale and move beyond its boundaries of current success in Benelux and EU countries such as the UK, Germany, and Switzerland. We came away from the analyst event and executive meetings impressed by its keen focus on the workspace and related go-to-market approach, by the services aggregator vision, and by the focus on opportunities in Western Europe."
