Getronics’ Engineering Resource

Getronics’ engineers are technically qualified and can be security vetted to the most rigorous standards required by both public and private sector organisations. Our many customers across these sectors demonstrate Getronics’ ability to handle issues of client confidentiality and data management in line with the highest possible standards.

Getronics staff possess formal technical accreditation relevant to their roles and are encouraged to further their training and accreditation through the Getronics Virtual University which offers both technical training in e.g. Microsoft and Cisco and service delivery and service management training in e.g. ITIL, PRINCE2 and Six Sigma.

Getronics’ field and onsite staff possess technical qualifications appropriate to the technology supported and the required level of field service under our global distributed services model. Engineers have basic manufacturer accreditations from the likes of Dell, Cisco, Microsoft and HP enabling service to be restored to the supported device in order that higher-level services, where required, may be delivered remotely.

Getronics has a mature Field Services organisation with a team of some 200 engineers providing national cover for the UK on a ‘round the clock’ basis and logistics support through some 21 primary stock locations. A nationwide infrastructure of 120 storage depots is supplied from a central UK warehouse. In addition, all engineers carry essential spares as car boot stock, replenished overnight from the nearest storage depot. This practice ensures that the required necessary spares are always available and coincide with an engineer visit.

All field engineers are trained to a high standard to enable them to fulfil their duties. This will be either formal training by our own in house training group, web based training or, where necessary, formal training by the manufacturer or approved partner.
