Getronics’ services and operations are fully aligned with the world’s most respected standards and frameworks. Our processes are based on the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) service management framework, and our organisations are ISO-certified and leverage Six Sigma for continuous improvement.
We are committed to continuous improvement and to keeping the services we provide fully aligned to our clients’ business goals. Getronics has developed and refined its Global Service Delivery Model to ensure a consistent and controlled service process worldwide.
ISO
Getronics is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO/IEC 20000, ISO/IEC 27001 in the following areas:
Quality Management
Getronics operates a Company-wide ISO 9001:2008 (Quality Systems) compliant quality system within the UK that has been certificated by BSI Management Systems. Certification is based on a programme of regular assessments of all UK locations carried out by the accredited certification body against the scope of the certificate.
Environmental Management
Getronics UK maintains an Environmental Management System in support of its Registration to ISO 14001:2004 (certificate reference EMS 514962), with processes for managing legal and other environmental requirements, environmental aspects and impacts, environmental objectives, and procedures for waste handling and managing environmental incidents.
Service Management
Getronics is certified to ISO/IEC 20000-1:2005. Getronics Service Management team are comprised of Regional Delivery Managers and Service Delivery Managers who have responsibility for the tactical and operational delivery of service for UK Customers.
All Getronics technical staff has formal technical accreditation relevant to their roles and are encouraged to further their training and accreditation through the Getronics Virtual University. This offers technical training in technologies such as Microsoft and Cisco along with service delivery and service management training in disciplines such as ITIL, Prince2 and Six Sigma.
Information Security Management
Getronics is certified to the ISO 27001 security standard and applies security controls based upon this standard. In addition through working with other financial services customers we have implemented security controls to meet the requirements of the FSA regulations and Sarbanes-Oxley where applicable. To ensure compliance with our own policies, customer policies and regulatory requirements we have employed automated tools and regular internal and independent audits carried out by various organisations including the British Standards Institution and Verizon Security Solutions.
ITIL
Getronics has many ITIL qualified personnel. Below you will find some ITIL related facts about Getronics:
- Getronics was instrumental in the development of ITIL Best Practice in 1980s.
- We were prime authors of the ITIL’s Service Support book which led to updates to all the education material.
- We were selected by Microsoft to assist in development of MOF (Microsoft Operations Framework) which is based on ITIL.

Getronics UK are members of the IT Service Management Forum (itSMF UK), which is the founding member of itSMF International, the only truly independent and internationally-recognised forum for IT Service Management professionals worldwide. As a not-for-profit organisation, itSMF is a prominent player in the on-going development and promotion of IT Service Management "best practice", standards and qualifications and has been since 1991.

Getronics also hold priSM Institute® membership through our UK Service Assurance group. The mission of The priSM Institute® is to promote professional recognition of Service Management professionals based on their experience, educational achievements and professional activities.
